| Sheva is back - Quote :
- After the negotiations for Andriy Shevchenko's return to Milan were suddenly and somewhat surprisingly brought to a successful end tonight, the first man to comment on the news was, as usual in these cases, vice-president Adriano Galliani.
"After a series of frenetic phone calls held during the entire day, we have reached an agreement with Chelsea. Andriy comes back in red and black, tomorrow he'll be in Milan, on Monday he will undergo the medical visits, then he will sign his contract, and on Tuesday evening he will be available to Carlo Ancelotti," he said.
Galliani admitted he was thrilled to see the Ukrainian return to the Rossoneri: "President Berlusconi and I are happy, so is our coach, and I think our fans should be too. I think Milan are the only club in the world who have three Golden Ball winners in the team."
The transfer guru did not spare the player some criticism for his decision to leave Milan for Chelsea two years ago.
"Andriy made a mistake in leaving and I think that in these two years he has understood that Milan is his home. Now he has made economic sacrifices but at this point the only thing that counts is that he is coming back to us," he concluded.

- Yesterday it was announced that Shevchenko was rejoining Milan, just hours after the transfer had seemingly collapsed, and Vice President Adriano Galliani had publicly declared that Chelsea were unwilling to allow the Ukrainian to leave on loan, and only wanted to sell him permanently.
The turnaround by the English giants came as something of a surprise, and there is speculation in Italy that Chelsea only changed their mind when Milan handed them a future option on Kaka.
Chelsea have been consistently linked with a move for the European and World Footballer of the Year over the last few years, and this summer have been repeatedly associated with a mega-money bid for the star.
In July it was reported that Chelsea had made a €100m offer for Kaka. The next day Milan Vice President Adriano Galliani confirmed that the club had rejected a “conspicuous” offer from Chelsea but wouldn’t reveal a figure, before adding that Kaka was not for sale at any price.
Chelsea's chief executive Peter Kenyon then refuted talk of a bid for Kaka, but this didn’t stop the press reporting that the Londoners were set to make a huge €150m bid for the midfielder.
Eventually the speculation died down, but last week there were fresh reports in the English and Italian press that the Rossoneri will release their star man if Chelsea table a bid of £80m, or €102m.
The option on Kaka would probably only come into force from next summer, and would mean that Chelsea would have first refusal on Kaka should he become available to buy. http://www.goal.com/en/Articolo.aspx?ContenutoId=831957

- The Rossoneri have been desperately searching for a centre back in recent weeks following the injury to key man Alessandro Nesta.
With Dario Simic and Digao both being offloaded, things started to become desperate for the Rossoneri when primary target Branislav Ivanovic, who had seemed certain to join from Chelsea, saw his transfer fall through at the last moment.
It was reported last week that Milan had turned their attentions to another Premiership based player, in the form of Arsenal centre back Philippe Senderos, and the deal has now been officially completed.
The Swiss centre back arrives on a one year loan deal, and Milan have the option to make the move permanent for a set fee next summer.
Senderos had been well down the pecking order at Arsenal following an error-prone season last term, and Arsene Wenger signalled his intention to let him leave after signing Manchester United’s Mickael Silvestre last week.
The 23-year-old Senderos made 74 Premiership appearances, scoring four goals, since signing for Arsenal from Servette in December 2002.
He has won 31 caps for Switzerland, playing at World Cup 2006 and Euro 2008.

| AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani admits Massimo Oddo could leave the club this summer.
The transfer window is due to close on 1st September, but a deal involving the full-back may be struck before that time.
Ligue 1 champions Lyon are known to have expressed an interest in the Italy international, keen for him to complement his countryman Fabio Grosso, who is already at Stade Gerland.
Oddo looks certain to lose his place in the Milan starting line-up this season to recent signing Gianluca Zambrotta, having already seen the former Barcelona man take his spot in the national side.
With that in mind, Galliani accepts the 32-year-old may be looking to take on a new challenge elsewhere.
"Lyon are interested in our full-back and anything is possible," he told Gazzetta dello Sport. |

| I wouldnt have signed sheva - Costacurta - Quote :
- Sheva returned back to the scene where he enjoyed most of his successful playing career this week after a turbulent passage from Chelsea.
Fans and players were delighted upon hearing the news but it has not gone down with Costacurta, who made 458 appearances for the Rossoneri between 1987 and 2007.
“Sheva? I wouldn’t have signed him for Milan,” Costacurta told Sky Sport Italia.
“There are two important strikers there like Pato and Borriello and he (Sheva) could create some turbulence.
“No, if it was down to me I would not have resigned him at all.”
Many will agree with the former stopper. The Ukrainian hit-man seems past his best days, and having won everything with Milan in, he may find it difficult to motivate himself.
The deal with Chelsea came down to a tug of war but it was the Italian side who triumphed when push came to shuv as Silvio Berlusconi and Adriano Galliani began waving their fists.
