| Mancio-ester City?
According to Tuttosport, former Inter boss Roberto Mancini is dreaming of taking over new Premiership giants Manchester City, although he is also being linked with both the vacant West Ham and Newcastle managerial positions.
The English Premiership has been all-go over the past week or so, with not an hour passing without another soap-opera style dramatic scene being played out in some capacity.
Since Monday, we have seen Arab billionaire Dr Sulaiman Al-Fahim take over Manchester City, buying Brazilian star Robinho, and lining up bids for a host of the world’s top stars, including Cristiano Ronaldo, Gigi Buffon, David Villa and Kaka.
Meanwhile, two managers have also left their jobs – West Ham’s Alan Curbishley, and Newcastle’s Kevin Keegan.
Italian coach Roberto Mancini, who was sacked as boss of Inter at the end of last season despite winning three consecutive Scudetti, has since been linked with all three of these English clubs.
Mancio is currently the favourite to take over at West Ham, he is high up the list of candidates at Newcastle but, according to Tuttosport, Mancini has his heart set on Manchester City.
Mark Hughes is currently in charge of the Citizens, but there are suggestions that owner Dr Sulaiman would like a big name manager in order to fit in with his vision of making Manchester City the best club in the world.
As a result, Hughes’ position at the club is far from secure, and Mancini could be the one to benefit. | |
