Newcastle-Target Atouba Left Off HSV Squad

Thimothee Atouba has been omitted from the Hamburg squad to face Arminia Bielefeld this weekend, inevitably prompting speculation that his HSV career is all but over.

The 26-year-old recently turned down an offer from Premier League side Hull City, with rumours that Newcastle boss Kevin Keegan is keen to add him to his ranks gaining precedent.

The matter turned more complicated in recent days after the attack-minded side-back surprisingly showed up for training in Hamburg, apparently after coach Martin Jol had already written him off .

A statement on the club's official website read: "The Cameroonian player left for England on Friday to undergo a medical with Newcastle United, but then surprisingly turned up at team training.

"Seeing that his future is unclear, coach Martin Jol has removed him from the squad to face Bielefeld."

now this can be very helpful b4 the transfer window closes
Magpies r really in huge need of a left back n Atouba has what it takes to join n will be a very good additions.
Atouba has great physical abilities n great long shots n is very helpful in attackin n this move will help Keegan move N'Zogbia back to his natural position as a winger instead of the LB position n now with James Milner out 2 Aston Villa we will need N'Zogbia back for the winger position.

Lol Atouba will be a good addition for Newcastle, he played in the EPL b4 with Tottenham. Newcastle has been in a good shape so far this season. I hope they can keep it up and try to reach the 4th place to enter the CL.It has been a long time since they last entered it lol I don't even remember when was the last time!!

That would have been a great signing for them!! I knew that Viduka is out injured, but I think Owen is doing a great job there Very Happy and u told me that new signing Jonás Gutiérrez is doing well.

Jonas has been the most impressive so far
yea Viduka is injured n Martins as well Crying or Very sad and u know Owen is an injury prone n gets injured quickly
latest bad news was James Milner move to Aston Villa but with Duff n Guitarrez i aint so worried about that but the new additions we need r Left back Atouba or Taiwo n someone in the Centre midfield 2 replace Barton , someone creative n good physically.
Guthrie the new arrival had 2 good games vs United n Bolton but Butt is gettin older n we need some cover in that place.
