Carlo Ancelotti launched the Ka-Pa-Ro in an exciting looking attack, while Paolo Maldini, Marek Jankulovski and Massimo Ambrosini returned to the starting XI after being rested against Reggina in midweek.

Inter were hoping to make it two wins out of two in Group B, while at the same time bouncing back from the derby defeat to Milan at the weekend. Luis Figo, Maxwell, and Luis Jimenez were all out injured, but Sulley Muntari was available having been suspended in Serie A. Jose Mourinho once again fielded a forward trident, this time consisting of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Adriano and teenage wonderkid Mario Balotelli.

Steven Gerrard was born in Whiston, Merseyside and brought up in Huyton, Merseyside. While attending Cardinal Heenan Catholic High School in West Derby, Liverpool, Gerrard was known to go on scouting trips to check out rival school teams. In 1994 — when he was in Year 9 — he was part of the Liverpool YTS scheme and almost made it into the England Schoolboys team, an odd quirk considering his now massively successful career. He is regarded as one of the best English footballers of his era.

LFP - Week 2 - Almeria vs Valencia

Emery's return to Almeria's homeground is overshadowed by Silva's injury.

As some of you may know, Silva is out for 3 months.

Valencia are currently in a good position, a draw would be a good result. The 3-0 win vs Mallorca has given the team confidence back, which many have feared would be on a low after losing vs Madrid.

I think if we score first we have a chance to win the game, if we concede first I think we'll struggle to get a point.

My preferred lineup:

----------------Renan

Miguel-----Albiol----Alexis-----Moretti

---------------Marchena

--------------Manelele

Joaquin----------------------------Matador

-------------Villa----Moro
