HEAD TO HEAD

Arsenal have won all but two of their 14 Premier League matches against Fulham.

The only occasion the Cottagers have denied the Gunners victory, apart from the home win two years ago, was in a goalless draw at Highbury on 30 November 2003.

The Gunners have scored in each of their Premier League visits to Fulham, a total of 16 goals in seven games.

Fulham were one of nine clubs Arsenal did the double over last season; Arsenal were one of six clubs to do the double over Fulham.

Home and away
League (inc PL): Fulham 6 wins, Arsenal 30, Draws 6
Prem: Fulham 1 win, Arsenal 12, Draws 1

at Fulham only
League (inc PL): Fulham 6 wins, Arsenal 11, Draws 4
Prem: Fulham 1 win, Arsenal 6, Draws 0

CLUB FORM

FULHAM

1. Lost their opening match 2-1 away to newcomers Hull, having taken the lead; they are one of nine clubs without a Premier League point.

2. Not lost an opening HOME fixture of a league season since Cardiff won 1-3 on 21 August 1993.

3 This is Roy Hodgson's 20th Premier League match in charge; he is seeking a seventh victory. The previous manager, Lawrie Sanchez, won just 30 in his first 20 league games.

4. Lost the last five London Premier League derbies, and not won any of the last 15; drawn eight and lost seven since Chris Coleman's side beat Arsenal 2-1 at the Cottage on 29 November 2006.

5. A 1-0 home win over Liverpool on 5 May 2007 was their only victory in the last 13 against the 'Big Four'. Lost the last six against the quartet (Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United), and scored one goal in seven against them (v Chelsea).

ARSENAL

1. Won their opening fixture 1-0, against new boys West Brom; one of nine clubs with maximum points from the first round of matches.

2. Won their first two (all comps), having picked up a 0-2 victory over Twente Enschede in Champions League qualifying in Holland on 13 August. The return leg is on Wednesday.

3. Only Chelsea and Liverpool also kept clean sheets in the opening weekend of the Premier League campaign.

4. Not won their first two fixtures of a Premier League season since 2004-05, when they kicked off with a five-match winning streak.

5. Won the last five league outings; against Reading (h), Derby (a), Everton (h), Sunderland (a) and West Brom (h).

6. Lost two of the last 16 London Premier League derbies; against West Ham (h) on 7 April 2007 and Chelsea (a) 23 March 2008. Won seven of eight last season.

Fulham didnt have the best of starts and had an unexpected loss against Hull city on the other hand Arsenal had a good game against west brom and succeeded 2 gain the 3 points.
i expect another 3 points 4 Arsenal but it wont be an easy game as Fulham will want 2 respond back after their 1st loss.

i hope fulham will be able to get a draw, but it will be fuckn hard...arsenal is a well organized team that plays nice football. it will be hard for fulham to keep up with them. but they are not easy in the craven cottage.

hope fulham can get anything from this match

i dont think that Fulham can be the team to cause problems to one of the big 4 in EPL
although i'm expectin somethin from the new duo of Fulham Johnson n Zamora but not in such a game.

problem with Arsenal is we like to play too good football and just want to pass it around and walk it into the head and instead of giving it a shot, it will either be 3 point or should of been 3 points

yea Arsenal's problem is that they give more attention to the beautiful football and less attention to the solid performance which lead to a good performance but not a good result.

Tbh, Fulham deserved the win.

Arsenal still haven't filled the gap of Flamini, well not until Diaby is back in full condition.

I think missing Fabregas was the main reason Arsenal hasn't reached top form so far in the EPL, once he'll be back Arsenal'll be up and running.

Note: Van Persie, one of 2 players I like in Arsenal, looked erm... average today.
Is it the fitness issue or is it more cause Wenger hasn't signed anyone to fuel competition?
Denilson was awful may I add..

it was a surprsie win for me even that i had a feeling that fulham may do it. like DV7 said they havnt filled flamini's spot, diaby needs time to be good like flamini had time to be a classy midfielder.

As much as I think Wenger is a good manager, I have to say the following. Wenger is either arrogant, or stupid. How does he plan to play without a holding midfielder? You're gonna tell me Diaby and Song, but they cant cover for Fabregas's constant runs upfield.

Arsenal must confess that they had a terrible transfer market.
with many mistakes , not signing a decent DM after losing 2 in Flamini n Gilberto Silva with Fabregas injured and Cesc wasnt the kind of a destroyer DM like Essien , Mascherano or Anderson.
they need a ball winner and they have 1 week to sign someone or else they should expect 2 suffer more.

i agrre with u mahdy now they dnt have a ball winner, diaby is good not a good ball winner he attacks alot.

any team needs a player the type of essien and mascherano, a player who runs after the ball, cuts it and gives it to his team mates....

if alex song takes a lot of chances like flamini he would be good. he is african thats it Very Happy . they are the best DMs in the world. arsenal shouldnt have let lassana diarra

yea leavin Lassana Diarra was a mistake.

Shinnawy Arsenal r a team with ambitions of competeing for the EPL n CL so if they r to make that they wont wait 2 develop a new rising star every season n give him chances and then sell him next year n start a new project of developin a young star.
